The Griffins Youth Foundation raises a significant proportion of its funding through fundraising events sponsored in part with local businesses, other charitable organizations and numerous sponsors such as the Grand Rapids Griffins, Meijer and Fox Motors to name a few.

Little caesars Fundraiser
GYF Families are selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits and In-Store Meal Deals to raise money for The Griffins Youth Foundation.
Every item we sell earns $6 profit and makes an impact!
lOU & lYNN'S 50TH aNNIVERSARY FUNDRAISER
Fundraiser Challenge: Griffins Youth Foundation is in need of new equipment. Two donors have graciously put out a matching challenge! For every dollar donated (up to $25,000) the donors will match with two dollars! If we can raise $25,000, the donors will match with $50,000. We have the opportunity to put $75,000 into the Foundation’s equipment fund!
For over 25 years our good friends at the Grand Rapids Griffins have been the driving force behind one of our signature fundraising events. Typically held the last Monday in August at the magnificent Amereican Dunes Golf Course, this incredible event greatly assists the Foundation in its efforts to provide free equipment and ice time to its players.
This annual event is typically held in mid-November and is co-sponsored by our friends at Peppinos and the Grand Rapids Griffins. Enjoy a wonderful meal at one of the Peppinos restaurants in West Michigan and be served by your favorite Griffins players, coaches and athletic staff.
50/50 Raffle
The Foundation, through its volunteers, work the aisles and kiosks of Van Andel arena for the majority of Griffins home games. A portion of the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle are used to help the Foundation fund its programming efforts.
Another signature event held with the assistance of the Grand Rapids Griffins and other sponsors such as Meijer and the City of Grand Rapids, this event typically occurs in the middle of January. The event is held over a 34 hour period showcasing winter outdoor activities and best of all, an opportunity to skate with your favorite Griffins players, who generously donate their time and raise funds on behalf of the Foundation.
Griffins Jersey Auction
In conjunction with the Griffins, the Foundation benefits from the auction and sale of Griffins players’ game worn jerseys after a home game in January.
This annual event showcases the skills of our Junior Sled Wings players as they square off against Griffins players (on sleds) at Griff’s Ice House. Meet your favorite players and get their autographs prior to watching them tangle with the Junior Sled Wings.
Dave Rue Referee Scholarship Fund
Throughout the year donations are accepted in honor of Dave Rue, who was a tireless volunteer, advocate for the Foundation and instrumental in developing our in-house referee program. We are also honored to have proceeds from the Rooster Showcase, a midsummer tournament of high school teams, held in honor of Dave. All proceeds go to pay for referee course training for our players in order for them to referee younger division games.
Griffins Booster Club Auction
Through the efforts and generosity of our good friends of the Griffins Booster Club, the Club solicits items for auction, including unique or hard to find sports memorabilia. This outstanding event is held during a Griffins game and all proceeds go to the Foundation to help with programming costs.
This annual event could not happen without the support of the Griffins and numerous Star Wars character and enactment groups from throughout the region. Where else could you get your picture with baby Yoda and the Mandalorian? All proceeds benefit the Foundation.
As part of the Griffins Charitable Goals program, Fox Motors selects a Griffins player prior to the beginning of each season and then donates $100 for every goal scored by that player to the Griffins Youth Foundation.
