GYF Blood Drive
GYF will once again be hosting a blood drive THIS SATURDAY in the community room from 10am-3pm. We have been given a goal of getting 50 people to commit to donating at this event and currently only 3 people have signed up! Please use this link to sign up for an appointment. Times are available every 5 minutes throughout this event. Please feel free to share our facebook event page with friends or family who may be interested!

Special Visitors
Last week Griffins players Cross Hanas (#71) and Seth Barton (#49) made a special appearance & hopped on the ice to help with practice with our World Juniors Division (3rd and 4th graders).

Sunday Extra Ice Time
This weeks extra ice time is our move up game for current 2nd and 3rd graders! If your child is currently in the second or third grade, this fall these players will both be in the World Junior Division as third and fourth graders. To help the transition process for our current second graders we are offering the opportunity for them to get a taste of what a half ice game feels like.
The game is Sunday February 5. On ice time is 2pm, but we would like players dressed and ready to go no later than 1:45pm. There are a few things coaches will need to cover before they take the ice.
Spots are limited and due to the large number of players we have in both divisions, every player will not have the opportunity to play in the move up game. There will be other opportunities this fall at camp for scrimmages along with preseason scrimmages.
*Coaches are needed for this move up game! Please use the below sign up if you are able to help. Only current GYF coaches who have a submitted a background check are able to help in this game*

Community Room News
This weekend we are hosting a Blood drive from 10am-3pm! Stop by outside the room for books and activities throughout the day. After the blood drive is complete, stop in for Lego Day- build, play games, do activities and read about Lego characters.
FAMILY FARE/SPARTAN STORE RECEIPTS:
Turn in your receipts in the education room– feel free to leave them on the counter Saturdays. Every receipt gets us closer to $1000. We currently have approx. $135,000 in receipts out of the$150,000 needed for our first $1000.
Last Friday we took a group of our high school aged players & their parents for a campus visit of Ferris State University complete with dinner and a Bulldogs hockey game! Everyone had a great time visiting Ferris & spending time with their team mates off the ice!

Griffins vs Sledwings- February 8th, 2023
Be sure to come show your support to our Sled Wings players on Wednesday February 8th! This is an annual event that showcases the skills of our Sled Wings players as they square off against Griffins players (who will also be on sleds!) right here at Griff’s Icehouse. Meet your favorite players and get their autographs prior to watching them tangle with the Sled Wings!
PLEASE NOTE! Due to this special event- Olympians and Adams Divisions will NOT have practice on Wednesday Feb. 8th! Campbell Division practices will be 5:00 and 5:55pm on the EAST rink!
